Welcome

KANDI PIC. ENC28J60Welcome to my electronics web site.

Over the years I have been designing and building a number of electronic circuits, for enjoyment and as a means to keep up to date with the ever advancing field of electronic engineering.

In my day job I am an electronic engineer, but designing circuits within a company has never quite been as rewarding as tinkering around in the evenings.

The most interesting part of electronic engineering for me currently is in embedded design. I found over the years a large part of the hardware design became ensuring that the correct IC is used for the job and that nearly all of the intelligence is found in firmware or software. (This is not always the case).

My tinkering around in the evenings started with programming PIC microcontrollers, it helped with my career as I landed a job in a small outfit where engineers are generally involved with all aspects of product design, and now I’m currently designing hardware and writing firmware for a variety of micro controllers.

I currently have three projects on the go:

  1. uCEthernet2 - An extension and improvement to the original project. Details of this project will be uploaded soon. Board currently at PCB house.
  2. Wireless Data - Small project to integrating the nRF24L01 with a micro. Will be used in conjunction with the uCEthernet2 to keep things interesting.
  3. Wireless Audio - This one has been on going for a while due to a problem interfacing the SPI EEPROM to the nRF24Z1. I can see a re spin coming soon!

Thankyou to the people that have supported the uCEthernet project, either by buying a module or identifying bugs in the firmware. Your help is appreciated.
